About the role and team:
The OP Hub team plays a crucial role in the development of the OP group's Developer Experience to the next level. In this project you leave a lasting imprint on software development culture and product development at OP for years to come.
In your day-to-day work, you will collaborate with Product Managers/Owners, Solution Analysts, Tech Leads, Developers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions. Your focus will be developing and refining functional requirements specification for OP Hub platform.
Your work involves various kinds of tasks, ranging from deep focus solution planning to hands-on workshopping together with stakeholders, lots of cooperation with different teams and developing solutions together. This requires you to navigate and constantly adapt and improve your approach in the face of changes to platform environment and requirements.
Together we are chasing the dream of better Developer Experience at OP. Everyone in the team has various levels of experience and varying skills and we value that diversity and difference of perspectives. Anything new that you might bring into the mix is greatly appreciated. We work in a co-operative fashion led by the Product Owner, but almost everything is decided together with each member truly having an impact on the direction of the product. The team works in hybrid fashion with some members working mostly from home and even from different cities, but we have our steady office goers as well co-located in Oulu.

You have the capability and enthusiasm to collaborate actively with Product Owners and Developers and dig deep into process details and requirements turning those details into features and solutions to be developed that from a cohesive whole. Sometimes tasks require quick resolution and decisions to get the job done in a timely manner to meet the demand of our platform customers. Even in these cases we appreciate calm and systematic demeanor and approach to your work to guide the OP Hub team towards optimal solutions. We are looking for a person that does not seek quick wins but takes on complex challenges and turns them into long-term solutions. You are a customer focused, open ended solution builder with a service-oriented mindset. You can facilitate and workshop viable solutions with the development team and stakeholders. You are not afraid to speak your mind and to challenge requirements coming from the business when you see room for improvement in a constructive manner with business representatives and technical experts.
You have knowledge and understanding about agile software development in general. You are familiar with issue tracking tools like JIRA and using Confluence to document your work.
To be successful in this role, you should already be equipped with hands-on requirements engineering and solution specification experience and prior experience with following technologies and patterns or similar alternatives:
• JIRA, Confluence, Mural/Miro, Office 365 tools
• Modern DevOps tools and practices and pipelines (Jenkins, AWS, Azure, GitHub)
• Knowledge about cloud-based development e.g. Azure or AWS
• Programming languages (NodeJS + React + TypeScript)
• API integrations
• Container technologies and operations
• Development and operating complex system(s)
• Databases i.e. PostgreSQL
• Search technologies such as OpenSearch is considered plus, but not mandatory.
• Prior work with backstage.io is considered plus, but not mandatory.
In addition, proactive attitude is important, good communication skills in English are required. Finnish skills are a plus but not mandatory.
