This position is part of Enterprise Campus Edge Solutions under Cloud and Networks Services at Nokia. You will be joining the Edge Platform team as Senior LinuxNetworking Specialist. Our services are known as Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (dac.nokia.com), a global campus private wireless market leader. Enterprise market segment and our organization are growing, so you will join a team with good future opportunities.
Nokia DAC consists of centralized and edge clouds that we develop and operate. Our central cloud manages large fleet of edge clouds on customer premises which extend fixed campus networks with 4G or 5G radio technology and by running applications on the same edge.
We run the latest container and cloud native technologies which is great opportunity for learning. Infrastructure as code and declarative configurations are your main methods for configuration management but you should have interest on system monitoring and analytics to create a complete operational loop to keep our large edge fleet in shape.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Nokia MX Industrial Edge, MXIE, is the next evolution of our Edge platform. You are responsible for ensuring that MXIE platform networking supports various workloads while maintaining a high level of automation and performance per Edge and over the entire MXIE fleet. You work at least with one of the components, from physical or cloud infra to network functions, and how to make solutions on top of the components.
QUALIFICATIONS
A hands-on attitude, quick learning and trying new ideas are highly appreciated. Exact qualifications may vary depending on the focus, and we want to find a good match with your interests. Our architecture team is working with a wide range of topics, from research to operational topics, and you can learn from the best experts.
You should have Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, telecommunications, cloud, engineering, or other relevant fields.
You contribute to network configurations, network stack development and own components in a DevOps style. Your background can be IP networking, cloud infra or system development. You want to keep updated with the latest networking and cloud technologies.

- Expert level experience with Linux networking stack
- Expert level experience with routing and switching software stacks (e.g. BIRD)
- Experience with CNI, SRIOV
- Hands-on experience with switches, routers, firewalls (any vendor)
- Experience with network management and data modeling (Yang, Netconf)
- Experience with Container OS and Kubernetes
- Experience with computing technologies like CPU pinning, NUMA, huge pages, OS real time scheduling
- Experience with Golang or Python development
- Experience with Gitlab and JIRA workflows
- Fluent in spoken and written English
