OsoiteProgram Manager within Saab Canada, Inc. is responsible for coordinating relevant projects within Saab Canada, Inc’s program portfolio. The Program Manager is accountable to define project requirements and scope, manage project resources, and supervise the efforts of all project team members to ensure on time, on budget and effective delivery of SCI’s projects. The Program Manager must have strong practical experience in project management, gained through managing multiple concurrent complex projects
Your Role
- Perform and oversee project activities throughout lifecycle ranging from strategic planning to activities including scheduling, documentation, budget and other factors required for project success
- Ensure all projects within assigned program are managed and executed within approved program management processes and contractual requirements
- Grow relationships in the customer community to service existing programs and find new and unique ways to deploy our technology to meet customer’s needs
- Oversee and monitor project goals/KPIs
- Own accountability for cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned program
- Provide consistent leadership and management of the project teams to ensure effective and efficient execution of assigned programs
- Coordinate the projects and their interdependencies
- Work with Head of Operations to ensure that the project team(s) are adequately staffed to achieve program objectives. Make personnel recommendations in support of key business objectives
- Conduct stakeholder meetings and forums to solicit inputs / expectations and incorporate into project plans
- Oversee, review, track and prepare project progress status reports to internal & external stakeholders via a formal communication plan
- Develop quote packages to respond to client requests
- Work in alignment with Saab’s policies and directives
- Other tasks within SCI relevant to the role as Program Manager, and agreed upon between the Program Manager and the Head of Operation
The Program Manager reports to the Head of Operations and is mandated within the program management role to carry out the work as described above.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline required
- 5 + years’ direct work experience in the aerospace or defence industry or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 + years of Senior Management experience
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Project Management Professional certification is a requirement
- Strong knowledge of financial management, technology management and internal controls
- Expert knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques
- Good understanding of and knowledge regarding the business process
- Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, diplomacy, communication, time management and patience
- Developed social skills and a positive attitude with an ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-cultural and diverse backgrounds
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Proactive self-motivated individual with a positive and ambitious attitude. A team player but with strong initiative to work with little supervision
- Possess an ability to adapt to different and changing situations
- Experience in working with government contracts is strongly preferred
- Well-developed written and presenting skills in English and at least one additional language (preferred although not essential)
- Current Canadian Government Security Clearance (NATO Secret) or the ability to obtain one
