OsoiteOP’s Development & Technologies organization develops services and systems for other segments within OP Financial Group and for OP Financial Group's customers. We are responsible for managing one of the largest pools of data capital in Finland and for using it to develop financial intelligence and other technologies. We are now looking for a Lead Developer to join our Data team in the Core Banking System tribe. This position is based in Helsinki but our remote work practices in Finland area are flexible.
What is the position like?
We are currently enabling a gradual transformation of Retail and Corporate Banking segments in OP Financial Group. Transformation is enabled by shared Core Banking System and other system upgrades. As the name suggest, Core Banking System tribe is responsible of OP's new Core Banking System and successful transformation, also known as Valas, as a whole.
We´re now fitting this new system into OP's technology environment. For this reason, we are now seeking a Lead Developer to manage data management on this Core Banking System area.
As a Lead Developer you will be responsible for your team’s solution architecture and for leading the development work. You will also participate to the hands-on software development work with the rest of your team. You’ll also get to mentor your team members and collaborate with external stakeholders, both onsite and offshore and work in close co-operation with the Product Owners and architects.
What we are we looking for?
We hope to find a person with experience in large scale data architecture, developing modern microservices and working with distributed and offshore teams. We hope you are into functional programming, write clean code and can test your own code. We believe having a broad understanding of software production processes and agile methodologies will help you to succeed.
We work with the following technologies and hope you are familiar with most of them:
- Design and implement data models for the ODS and EDW that meet business requirements and align with the overall data architecture.
Python
Participate on implementation of data governance process.
Create specifications for technical teams.
Gather feedback data from production and translate to business and technical requirements and specifications.
Knowledge of these things will also be beneficial for you in this role:
Strong understanding of data productization and mapping
Knowledge about account and lending products

Since you will co-operate with many different stakeholders, you should have good communication skills. You should have full working proficiency in English, Finnish skills are considered as a big plus.
