We are now looking for an experienced

Manager, Portfolio management

to join the Commercial & Operations unit and our team of Portfolio & Change management and Business architecture.

At Commercial & Operations unit we have three distinct business lines: New building solutions, Service including global spares supply and Modernization including customer solutions engineering. In Commercial & Operations we ensure we are the most competitive in each of our businesses throughout the life cycle. Our life cycle business implies that New building solutions and Modernization strongly contribute to Service growth and profitability. 

The position is in the heart of business strategy, and You are in a key role to enable successful strategy execution through end-to-end program Portfolio Management for New building solutions, Service and Modernization business line portfolios. In Portfolio Management we drive towards understanding what is consequential for long-term competitiveness and taking investment decisions that balance short- and long-term needs.

You are in charge of having a well-managed Modernization investment portfolio. You bring clarity with a strategically prioritized roadmap across the life cycle and visibility to progress and outcomes.

Key responsibilities for this role:

  • You structure the portfolio according to strategy into meaningful entities of programs and initiatives

  • You facilitate investment prioritization at long-term, annual and quarterly cadence, and you build scenarios for decision making

  • You bring simplicity and transparency end-to-end to otherwise complex and large portfolio

  • You facilitate investment business potential definition and see to that business case review is part of the governance

  • You demand for full chain investment cost & resourcing visibility and manage this throughout the year

  • You promote and implement common Lean & Agile project methodologies / ways of working

  • You implement ways of working that drive towards clearly defined and communicated outcomes, and the delivery of the same

  • You provide guidance on the adequate way to projectize and manage initiatives under the portfolio, project framework, methodologies and tools

  • You drive and facilitate executive communication preparations.

Key interfaces for this role:

  • You interface mostly with Modernization leadership team and business program owners, as well with sales development, marketing and brand development owners

  • You are the go-to person for Technology & Innovation when it comes to business portfolio priorities and practices, such as quarterly prioritization and planning, costing and resourcing

  • You are supported by and you contribute to KONE Way team for new KONE level methodologies, ways of working and tools

  • You build strong working relationships with the Area strategy & portfolio stakeholders for investment prioritization and deployment roadmapping

  • You work as closely as a team with your peers in portfolio & change management, and deployment readiness.

We expect you to bring to our team new ways of thinking and executing Portfolio Management, continues improvement mindset, lean and agile working methods, ideas on empowering projects teams and enthusiasm to deliver on our promises.

Skills, Education and Experience

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Successful, multi-year track record of executing business strategy through program Portfolio Management, experience in prioritization practices, and outcome driven approach

  • Proven track record and experience from new ways of doing projects, including lean and agile methodology, tools and ways of working, for example experience in quarterly planning and objectives and key results as methods

  • Hands-on experience in orchestrating a number of parallel projects/program streams to drive consistency in project approach and discipline in project management practices

  • Understanding of business case calculations, return on investment thinking in projects and basics of business analytics

  • University degree (MSc)

An ideal candidate also demonstrates:

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills

  • Ability to influence among leadership teams and peers

  • Ability to define and stick to timelines, plan and deliver accordingly

  • Enthusiastic and proactive to learn and contribute

  • Persistence, repeatedly pursues and reaches the agreed outcome

  • Strong English spoken and written

  • Attention to details, structured and logical, analytical

  • Demonstrates critical thinking
