Purpose of the position

 

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to join our Cargo Stowage Solutions team. In this role, you will play a vital part in driving sales growth within the Bulk Carrier vessel segment. Your primary responsibilities will include growing the sales turnover and ensuring that we consistently meet and exceed customer expectations, working hands-on with shipyards and owners. Leading role in improving Products, Processes, and Tools. If you are passionate about sales and eager to make a significant impact, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Providing suitable solutions to MacGregor Cargo Stowage Solutions (Hatch covers) customers by taking the lead in preparing offers, specifications, and drafting of final offers by coordinating activities of relevant personnel (naval architects, tendering, area Sales, etc.);
  • Maintaining close customer contact and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process for the owners and shipyards;
  • Take ownership of relationship building in all relevant stakeholders;
  • Screening new business opportunities;
  • Driving force in the development of new solutions according to market needs;
  • Contribute in the development of marketing materials and developing sales tools;
  • Manage and deliver accurate forecasts, in harmony with company core values;
  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and accountability;
  • Central part in development of the bulk carrier tendering tools;
  • Willingness to frequent travel.


 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  • B. Sc. or M.Sc. in mechanical, or naval engineering;
  • Several years of experience in technical B2B sales preferably in the marine industry;
  • Strong drive for high-quality customer service and ability to systematically and independently work at the customer front;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to carry out multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. Other language skills are considered an advantage;
  • Knowledge of Cargo Stowage solution products and applications are considered an advantage;
  • Demonstrated track record of success working for organisations that have a reputation for outstanding performance. You are someone who has consistently achieved in a growth environment and has actively contributed to building high-performance selling organisations.
