JOB DESCRIPTION
Now we are looking for a senior software engineer to develop software for our cellular Network Management System, and more specifically for its deployment tools. Our key focus is on life cycle management for large virtualized/containerized software system, managing deployment to various target environments; VMware, OpenStack, IaaS, running software on RHEL. The person would be contributing into deployment tools development, testing and automation, and would need good skills in coding (java), scripting (shell, python) and automation tools (Ansible).

Your main responsibility will be to develop software for a large system with various deployment variants and for hundreds of installations world-wide. You will work in our in-house development team, closely together with our experts. You will be responsible for writing high quality and clean software using agile methods and tools. The team that you will be part of is curious to learn more, excited about doing a variety of different kinds of tasks and has excellent co-operation.
You will also be part of an international and multicultural environment. Our headcount in Nokia Tampere is around 1000 people, and we are from 40 different countries. Our team also works in co-operation with teams on many different sites and professionals world-wide.

QUALIFICATIONS
Your skills and experience
We will require:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering and solid programming skills
- Comprehensive knowledge in the following: Java, scripting languages (Shell, python), automation languages (Ansible), version control (Git/Gerrit)
- Several years of experience of working with virtualized environments (VMware, OpenStack)
- Ability to write good quality, clean, test covered code and knowledge on software testing (DFMEA, testing at different levels, automation, testing tools)
- Experience with the Linux OS Environment and related tools
- Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- Knowledge of containerized applications, DevOps, Jenkins, Helm
- Self-driven, seeking and implementing improvements
- Good team player, but also an independent problem solver and capable of leading projects and teams
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English
