We're seeking a talented Travel Managerto join us in Kalmar. If you're passionate about travel, possess excellent organisational and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

 

This position is open to candidates across Europe.

 

The Kalmar Travel Manager is responsible for the consolidated Kalmar global travel management model, monitoring and reporting travel across multiple divisions and sites globally. 

This role will own travel related reporting, KPI tracking and the provision of reporting and compliance statistics and the suggestion of improvement actions. Operational travel is also responsible for Kalmar travel related communication, training and hands on support & guidance for different stakeholders utilising industry best practices and trends to lead this area with a focus on safety, security, high performance and continuous improvement mindset.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Simplification and development of the travel process, implementing and updating tools and processes as needed to ensure safe and cost-effective travel for the business
  • Travel reporting (based on travel provider data) on a monthly basis including both sustainability and cost metrics together with proposed actionable insights based on this data
  • Together with business owners, provide suggestions for travel policy update and maintenance of the global policy
  • Implement and maintain traveller tools and services to support both the business and travellers i.e. ensuring content is up to date on online and mobile booking platforms to support a fluent end to end process
  • Follow and implement industry best practice and trends such as travel sustainability and integrated expense management processes together with finance
  • Travel communication across stakeholders at all levels in Kalmar.  Communication of new policies, creation and delivery of training materials and keeping travellers engaged through the travel community
  • Maintaining traveller safety and security with Kalmars outsourced provider, monitoring for significant or severe changes in security and safety and supporting Kalmar to track travellers in case of serious incidents.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Travel, business, finance, supply chain or similar discipline
  • At least 3 years of experience in Procurement, finance, project management or supply management functions
  • Prior experience with Travel management preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Experience gained in a large multinational company with a matrix organisational structure essential
  • Experience in working together with global teams and executing significant transformational change projects.

 

Competencies

  • Exceptional integrity; operating at the highest level of ethical standard, is required
  • Ability to cope with ambiguity and complexity is necessary
  • Continuous improvement, change leadership and management with process focus and benefit realisation mindset.

 

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, influencing and relationship building skills
  • Successful collaboration with key stakeholders and ability to maintain relationships at the executive level
  • Analytical mindset and the ability to draw conclusions and actions from data
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
