Join our team as a Category Manager focusing on Indirect Travel & Real Estate Management. We are seeking a strategic thinker with a strong background in procurement and vendor management to optimise our travel and Real Estate expenditures across multiple locations.
While the primary site for this position is in Finland, we offer the flexibility for remote work from any European location. Applicants from across Europe are welcome .
The Global Category Manager is responsible for the creation, development and execution of the sourcing strategy for the global Travel and Real Estate Management categories consisting of multiple divisions and sites globally.
This role will lead the travel and Real Estate management categories as part of the global indirect sourcing team in Kalmar utilising industry best practices and trends to lead and transform these key categories with a focus on high performance and with a continuous improvement mindset.
This position will create Kalmar category strategies and develop roadmaps to execute those strategies, supplier preferencing and reduction / consolidation to create synergies and drive sustainability improvements. Target is to maximise the total acquisition cost with sustainable and operational performance, securing benchmark total cost of ownership as well as driving profitability and growth.
Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Develop, drive and implement the Kalmar Global Category Strategy incorporating all requirements from key stakeholders
  • Strategic Supplier Selection aligned with the Category Strategy and sourcing governance models
  • Support New Technology and tool development through suppliers
  • Incorporate sustainability into strategy
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management
  • Attain Category Market Intelligence and share with the businesses
  • Proactively identify risks and develop mitigating activities to reduce exposure
  • Optimise the supply base with vendor and global/regional site consolidation in focus
  • Optimise the Global Category footprint.
What you'll need to succeed
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering, MBA preferred
  • At least 8 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Project management
  • Sourcing experience with Travel and/or Real Estate management preferred.

Experience
  • Management experience gained in a large multinational company with a matrix organisational structure essential
  • Budget and business plan development and implementation
  • Extensive experience in working with global teams and executing significant transformational change projects is necessary.
Competencies
  • Exceptional integrity; operating at the highest level of ethical standard, is required
  • Ability to cope with ambiguity and complexity is necessary
  • Continuous improvement, change leadership and management with process focus and benefit realisation mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and relationships while remaining focused on the key deliverables is key.
