We are looking for Summer Trainee, Hardware Test Engineer to join the Vaisala Industrial Measurement organization in our headquarters at Vantaa / site at Espoo. During the summer, you will learn how to work in R&D Instrument laboratory, building mechanical test setups, understanding of electronics, and integrating this to a system that will run a real test.

In this role you will be working in close co-operation with Mechanical Engineers, Electronical Engineers, System Engineers, and Hardware Test Engineers. You will report to R&D Manager.

WHAT WILL YOUR SUMMER LOOK LIKE?
The role can be focused on certain topics, not restricted to the tasks mentioned below, depending on your interests and background and experience.
- Build physical test setups, consisting of subsystems of mechanical and electronical components, for lifetime testing.
- Execute the testing in different use conditions.
- Generate test scripts for automated test.
- Coordinate the manual test cases.
- Build the test cases in collaboration with project team.
- Analyze and share the test results within the team.
- You are responsible for making sure that the test setups are running during summer.
- Typical day will be usually spent at lab either building or maintaining the test setups, but the data can be analyzed at office or remotely.
- There will be some meetings that you will participate in regarding the planning and data you generate.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- We hope you are a student from Mechanical, Electronical or Automation Engineering (or similar), at later stages of your studies.
- You need to be comfortable with using basic hand tools, doing physical prototyping and should have basic knowledge in electronics.
- Experience in building or repairing anything that moves, be it from professional or hobby side is a big plus.
- Working proficiency in English, Finnish is an asset.
