Our Machine Data Platform team is part of the larger Digital Center of Excellence unit, responsible for the development and delivery of Konecranes Industrial Internet Platform as well as Digital solutions that serve both our customers and business processes. Konecranes Industrial Internet connects, gathers, analyses and presents data from Konecranes built equipment and from the global field service IT system. Our Digital solutions include a multitude of web and mobile applications all built on latest software engineering solutions and address the key needs of our customers and businesses.
Machine Data Platform is now seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Automation Engineer, IoT to join our dynamic team. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our IoT data handling and edge computing solution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Test Automation, embedded Linux systems, Yocto Project, AWS IoT, Robot Framework and some of the following programming technologies: Node.js, C/C++, Java and/or Python.
Your key responsibilities:
- Automated Testing: implement robust automated testing to validate the quality, functionality and security of our IoT data handling and edge computing solution.
- Data Integrity Testing: Create and execute tests to validate data collection accuracy and integrity, working closely with developers to identify and resolve any issues.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to implement effective testing practices for data interfaces with automation platforms (PLCs), embedded control systems, sensors etc.
- Tests monitoring and maintenance: monitor test status/progress via DataDog and other tools. Actively address any failures, ensuring that tests remain green.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain automated testing within CI/CD pipelines to facilitate the rapid and reliable delivery of software updates using GitHub, Jenkins, JFrog and other tools.
- Documentation: Develop comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Keep documentation up to date to reflect changes in the application and testing requirements.
- Collaboration with Development Team: Work closely with developers to guide and educate them on effective testing practices, emphasizing automation and continuous improvement.
- Defect Management: Identify, report, and track defects, working collaboratively with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Troubleshooting: perform initial analysis of the cause of the defect and provide high quality analysis to the development team.
What should you bring?
- Proven experience in Test Automation, particularly in industrial or automotive environments.
- Basic knowledge of software engineering and agile software development.
- Knowledge of Robot Framework tool.
- Basic programming skills in languages such as Node.js, C/C++, Java and/or Python.
- Experience or expertise on embedded Linux systems
- Knowledge of the Yocto Project
- Experience with AWS IoT services.
- Knowledge of Node.js and its application in testing scenarios is a plus.
