Metsä Group ICT is a group level service function having about 240 employees. Group ICT is responsible for delivering and developing competitive ICT services to all business areas and group functions.
Metsä Group is in process of renewing its ERP solution. The large-scale project aims to harmonize the Group's current ERP solutions with a unified modern solution. It supports management of the Group as a one company with unified processes. Group ICT Application Services function is strengthening its organization and is looking for an enthusiastic
SOLUTION DESIGNER, Logistics (SAP EWM)
to join us in the Metsä Group ICT Application Services, Supply Chain team with development focus. The main responsibility area in this role is the warehousing related solutions. In Supply Chain process area we are using SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) solution in Logistics planning and execution and Production Manufacturing execution for the mill outbound warehouse. We are using Fiori-based mobile solutions in this area.
Your role in the future Metsä
In this role your first project will be Metsä Group ERP+ program and specifically Metsä Fibre Pulp deployment project. You will be working closely with the ERP+ common team to understand the common processes and template solution. You will be responsible to implement the SAP EWM solution to Metsä Fibre Pulp according to the template solution. You will work closely with our system integrator to finalize and document design for business requirements identified as gaps and present these for common team approval.
In the future you will act as a Product Owner in the continuous services and large development projects, for example strategic mill investments. You are responsible for solution development, capturing business requirements and coordinating their implementation with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
You work closely with all Metsä business areas, process development and our implementation partners. You will control the progress of development. You need to ensure the quality of the implemented solutions and documentation. You will identify improvement opportunities by understanding business processes and industry requirements, standards and best practices.
Key responsibilities:
  • Act as Solution Designer / Product Owner in Logistics warehousing area (SAP EWM)
  • Ensure all development follows Metsä Group common processes and solution guidelines
  • Capture business requirements, prepare solution proposals in co-operation with external partners and ensure timely delivery.
  • Create test scenarios, test cases and participate in testing.
  • Ensure up-to-date solution knowledge in the support organization
  • Act as 3rd tier support when needed to resolve high priority incidents
  • Vendor management

What do we expect from you?
Ideal candidate is a service-minded team player with a positive attitude and good communication and cooperation skills. You care for your customers and are able to challenge current processes and solutions to ensure adherence to United processes and ERP+ template solution. We appreciate good leadership skills and ability to influence people in a matrix organization. Also development, quality and results should be on your focus as well as proactive way of working. In order to succeed you need to be able to work in a strongly developing environment.
In addition we expect:
  • Experience in developing and/or supporting business critical applications.
  • Experience in SAP application development and/or support.
  • SAP Configuration experience is seen as an asset, especially in SAP EWM or WM and Fiori
  • Experience in agile methodologies (scrum, SAFe)
  • Knowledge of logistics and warehousing business processes and ICT solutions
  • Knowledge of integration technologies are considered as assets.
  • Understanding of core IT processes (change, incident and problem management) and related tools
  • Vendor management skills in multivendor and international environment.
  • Fluent English written and spoken skills are expected, Finnish skills are an asset
