About This Role

As a Senior QA Engineer, you'll be a member of QA team, collaborating closely with development team, external vendors and QA experts, business units, and architects to deliver exceptional value to our customers. You'll play a pivotal role in project planning, test strategy formulation, progress monitoring, risk identification, and quality reporting, all while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Your role will encompass enhancing Aktia Life Insurance's digital services by ensuring quality across various components, from UI to integrations and databases. You'll be instrumental in defining and implementing quality assurance goals that align with the broader value stream objectives. We're seeking a motivated team player eager to expand his/her skills and business acumen.

Key responsibilities include:

• Validate requirements and technical specifications
• Devise comprehensive end-to-end testing strategies
• Develop test plans and oversee testing activities, including proactively mitigating risks
• Lead external QA engineers and guide development team through development cycles
• Provide testing report and improvement recommendations to stakeholders
• Contribute to refining established test processes and reporting
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster collaboration
• Craft test cases aligned with requirements and priority
• Build and maintain test suites
• Support team in developing a robust test automation solution
• Participate actively in Aktia's QA community and offer support when needed
• Occasional travel to Turku office may be required

We expect the successful candidate to have:

• Demonstrated track record of at least 3+ years in a senior role or leading testing activities
• Established proficiency in test management specifically tailored for large-scale projects
• Proven hands-on experience in testing SaaS-based applications and API testing
• Profound understanding of test automation
• Familiarity with various testing dimensions including performance, accessibility, usability, and security
• Proficiency in agile methodologies
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic proficiency in Finnish/Swedish language
• Qualities of flexibility, patience, and resilience

Additional preferred skills and qualifications:

• Prior knowledge of the insurance industry
• Familiarity with Robot Framework, Xray, and JIRA
• Experience with CI/CD tools and container technology
