About this opportunity
The Nordea Technology Architecture team is expanding and seeking experienced a Senior IT Architect to shape the bank’s technology landscape. This includes leading new initiatives as well as rearchitecting existing solutions for modernization or optimization, and from a technical perspective in both cases. The primary areas of focus for the Senior IT Architect are infrastructure, networking, and virtualization. Your span of involvement will range from data centers and servers, to networking, shared services, end-user devices and Cloud.
The Nordea Technology Architecture team is closely integrated with both the Security Architecture and Architecture Governance organizational units, and part of the broader Group Architecture organization that consists of approximately 170 architects, supporting all lines of business.

Your main responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
- Lead the technical architecture definition of complex and strategic initiatives across the bank’s business lines, which are broken down into service domains.
- Define architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices to guide the delivery of technology projects and ensure their alignment with business goals.
- Create and maintain technology strategies for the firm’s business lines and their associated service domains.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate technology investments and drive innovation.
- Mentor and coach junior technical and solutions architects along with technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, leveraging your technical expertise to drive strategic initiatives.
- Perform peer reviews on solution designs across all areas of the bank.
Who you are

We expect you to bring:
- 10-15 years of experience in developing technical architectures to support technology & IT-related initiatives, both large and small.
- 5-10 years of experience as a technical architect, and 1-3 years in a lead technical architect role
- Expert-level knowledge of IT concepts and principles, with deep expertise in multiple domains (e.g., data centers, networking, virtualization, and Cloud).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale, complex IT projects from conception to delivery
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
