About this opportunity
This is a role within the data science unit of FCIIA with responsibility of aiding cross jurisdictional special investigations and coordinating both operational and strategic intelligence through development of advanced analytics products leveraging data transformation, statistics, machine learning and visualizations.
What you'll be doing:
- Leverage your programming knowledge and distributed computing to process big data and support various development initiatives to enhance threat detection
- Turn innovative ideas and concepts from end user data tools into reusable data solutions
- Building data pipelines that supports the creation of a continuous risk monitoring capability
- Proactively contributing to the build of next generation Financial Crime solutions including articulating how analytical solutions and data transformations can be integrated into these
- Utilize the knowledge of data to optimize the way complex investigations and anti-Financial Crime monitoring are carried out using data
- A curious mind, not afraid of suggesting data driven solutions that will increase the bank's effectiveness and efficiency
- Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements via testing
- Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts

Your experience and background:
- Experience and proven track record in handling and working efficiently with large data sets using Hadoop or related cloud platforms
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Data Engineering, computer science, technology or related field
- Possess specialist knowledge of Scala, Spark, SQL, Python and solutions provided by the most common Data Engineering platforms
- Ability to communicate clearly on complex topics
- Fluency in English
- Experience working in Financial Crime prevention within the financial services industry is a nice to have
- Experience working with Cloud Technologies is a nice to have
