To drive the global topics on our ambitious HSE agenda we are looking for a highly motivated and business-minded professional with a hands-on-mentality to join our team as a VP, Global HSE

 

In this role, you will develop and drive the Konecranes HSE vision, strategy and management framework together with the Business Areas and the Group Sustainability team. Your role is to ensure that the global organization receives the HSE support they need in the operations and frontlines through leading and developing the global HSE network.

 

As VP, Global HSE you belong to the Group People & Culture organization and report to the EVP, People & Culture. 

 

The location of the position is flexible and can be in any major location of Konecranes.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Developing and driving the global HSE vision, policy, processes, tools and standards for the global organization, aligned with our strategic objectives and values.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant HSE laws, regulations, and best practices across the company's operations, and identifying and addressing any gaps or issues.
  • Leading and supporting the HSE network in delivering HSE excellence and continuous improvement, through effective competence and performance development, planning, monitoring, coaching, recognition, and feedback.
  • Acting as content owner of the Global Environmental Standard and the Planet Saving Behaviours and working in collaboration with the global Sustainability team to monitor and improve the energy, waste, water, and emissions data and practices of the Konecranes operations.
  • Leading and developing the corporate crisis management policy and framework, acting as the global crisis manager, developing crisis management competencies globally, and building and coordinating a global network of emergency response and security coordinators.
  • Responsible of the global travel security policy and processes, including the risk management and assistance services, and the training and communication on the topic.
  • Driving a culture of HSE awareness, engagement and accountability among all employees and stakeholders, through regular communication, education, and recognition.
  • Providing guidance and direction on HSE matters to the Leadership Teams and ensuring their involvement and commitment.
  • Managing and coordinating the company's response to any HSE incidents, emergencies, or crises, and ensuring the appropriate escalation, investigation, and follow-up actions.

What should you bring?

 

  • Master’s degree preferably Occupational Safety or similar
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HSE management or other relevant management role preferably in a global company, with a strong focus on safety, environment, and crisis management
  • A proven track record of leading and delivering HSE excellence and innovation and driving positive change and results.
  • Crisis management experience
  • Experience in travel and other security related areas.
  • Strategic orientation with a practical touch in driving change
  • Persuasive communication skills, English language fluency and ability to “listen” to what is required from the operational organization and other stakeholders.
  • Courage to challenge and support constructively at all levels in the group
  • Ability to understand different processes and systems together with a continuous improvement approach and mindset.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and ethical standards, and a commitment to the company's values and vision.

 

This role requires business travel on international scale, the percentage is subject for agreement.
