Job Description Summary We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer Manager who will actively contribute to the design and development of clinical accessories/consumables for Patient Monitoring. You will be responsible for activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. You will be driving the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
In addition, your role will be to strengthen and grow an engineering team responsible for the development of clinical accessories/consumables. The role has a global outreach and is based in Helsinki, Finland, co-located with our Monitoring Solutions engineering and manufacturing teams.
Job DescriptionResponsibilities
  • People leadership for an engineering team where the focus will be on released products, occasionally also on new product development.
  • Requires specialized knowledge of IB work. Program / project management for installed base (released products) projects that investigate field & manufacturing issues and implement design, component etc changes.
  • Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
  • Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Working with the global teams for understanding & implementing customer satisfaction opportunities, solving manufacturing and suppliers' challenges, looking for opportunities for quality improvements and cost reductions.
  • Energize and develop the team for strong engagement on programs. This includes coaching a team on working a diverse installed base. Hiring, mentoring, setting priorities, following performance for the team.
Qualifications experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering in fields of Electronics, Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated engineering knowledge, program management, and business planning processes.
  • Leadership experience in either team, project, or people leadership roles
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Experience from industry in product design or maintenance projects
  • EU work permit
Desired skills
  • Experience with program management, leading product development efforts from concept to delivery for introduction into the global market.
  • Prior experience in design & development within the Med Tech industry/healthcare devices
  • Proven ability to drive change and proven ability to drive buy-in for initiatives with various global stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience with IB/NPI, quality & regulatory medical device compliance processes.
  • Experience with GEHC's Quality Management System, Product development framework and associated tools.
