Danfoss Editron is leading the electrification revolution and our mission is to end pollution with electrification.


Editron specializes in hybrid and electric powertrain systems for the off-highway, on-highway and marine markets. As business division of Danfoss, it develops and manufactures high-performance power systems for heavy-duty vehicles, machines and marine vessels based on synchronous reluctance assisted permanent magnet technology and Si and SiC power electronic converters. 

 

We are growing fast globally, and are now seeking to recruit a System Engineer to join our award-winning team and to work on the technologies that will enable the world of tomorrow to do more with less.  This role can be based from our sites in Lappeenranta, Helsinki, or Tampere, Finland.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for the electrification of on and off-highway vehicles. In this position you will:

  • Elicit, write and maintain product requirements.
  • Elicit, write and maintain software and hardware requirements.
  • Develop requirements management practices ensuring bidirectional traceability.
  • Facilitate and support the definition of functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434) requirements.
  • Write product documentation.

Background & Skills

To thrive in this role, we would expect you to display:

  • Batchelors degree or equivalent in System Engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar related field, with detailed experience in System Engineering
  • Good understanding of requirements elicitation.
  • Experience of using a requirements management system (e.g. Polarion, Modern Requirements, DOORS, Teamcenter PLM).
  • Understanding of power electronic converters, embedded software development, electronics design, or electric drivetrains.
  • Being an effective team player, yet not afraid of working independently or taking responsibility.
  • Excellent written and good oral communication skills in English.

 

Advantageous would be:

  • Experience of working in projects in the automotive industry.
  • Experience of software or hardware development and associated software tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Git, OrCAD)
  • Understanding of automotive functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434).
  • Experience with AUTOSAR Classic: architecture, development and configuration tools.
  • Basic understanding of programming (e.g. Python).
