Senior Financial Controller

As part of our Finance team, you will be involved in strategic and tactical decision-making by providing financial perspectives. We utilize advanced techniques for financial analysis, planning, accounting, reporting, and performance evaluation, enabling us to advance medical innovation and improve lives.
Position Overview:
- Ensure accurate maintenance of General Ledger Accounts in collaboration with internal and external business partners, including maintaining supporting documentation.
- Support month, quarter, and year-end close processes.
- Coordinate Payroll Accounting with external service providers.
- Provide backup for Accounting Lead.
Major Activities:
- Manage assigned General Ledger accounts and support month-end close activities to ensure compliance with US GAAP and statutory requirements.
- Oversee the statutory financial statement process during year-end.
- Manage payroll accounting, including expats, in collaboration with outsourced payroll providers.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of assigned accounts, accurate balances, and correct transactions.
- Maintain systematic records and appropriate supporting documentation for accounting transactions.
- Manage intercompany transactions.
- Handle tax payments and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal and external service providers.
- Support Business Compliance activities from a financial perspective.
- Manage local bank transactions for both legal entities.
- Assist in internal, external, and tax audits.
- Collaborate with the BSC Service Center in Prague for the Source-to-Settle process.
- Support Accounting Lead in corporate reporting requirements.
- Participate in ad hoc global and local projects.
Expertise Required / Core Competences:
- Advanced degree in accounting (professional degree) and several years of experience in accounting/finance in an international company (comfortable working in a matrix environment).
- Fluent in English and Finnish.
- Knowledge of national and regional finance laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., Local GAAP, US GAAP, Foreign Corrupt Practice Act) and ability to apply them in moderately complex situations.
- Strong adherence to ethical behavior, compliance with laws, policies, and regulations, and ability to address ethical issues.
- Ability to independently manage assigned processes and tasks with minimal supervision.
- Stakeholder-focused, structured, and reliable, with a commitment to meeting agreed timelines.
- Experience with SAP FI/CO modules and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with auditing is an advantage
