Are you interested in troubleshooting and analysing the performance of four-stroke engines? Then this job may be for you. We are looking for a Remote Diagnostics Expertand four-stroke engines to join our team.
We are a team of more than a dozen experts who follow the condition of Wärtsilä four-stroke engines. We utilise the digital tool “Expert Insight”, which highlights deviations from the expected behaviour of the engine type. Data from engine sensors come from the field via an internet connection, and the digital tool uses both artificial intelligence and rules set up by engine experts.
The engines we monitor are primarily on ships under maintenance agreements with a dedicated team of Wärtsilä experts delivering services for the customer. We send regular notifications and monthly reports to customers, proactively maintaining the engines' good condition.
We are now looking for reinforcements to our office in Finland (Vaasa or Turku) or Singapore. Your background can be in marine operation (chief engineer, etc.), engine field service, R&D, engine manufacturing, or similar. Understanding the correlation between various engine operational parameters is essential to being successful in this role. Our experts should be comfortable giving advice to customers about four-stroke engines when sensor data is noticed to be deviating.

- You are comfortable working with numbers in the form of tables and graphs
- You are willing to work in a structured way with routine work
- You are willing to work as an expert and a team player
- You have good written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in English. Other languages are seen as a merit.
- You are willing to learn and use new digital tools
- We offer you tutoring to get into the role and, after that, continuous training and skills updating so that you will become a full-fledged expert on four-stroke engine diagnostics. You will work in a team where everyone supports each other and discusses their exciting cases together. You will get to work with state-of-the-art digital tools (including artificial intelligence) and be part of a modern and global business. Your customers will be located worldwide, and you will work mainly in English.
