We are currently looking for an experienced

Manager, Shared HR Services

for a permanent position. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop the university's HR service model and streamline and automate payroll and operational HR processes. You will ensure the quality and efficiency of our operations and lead your team in a coaching manner in accordance with the university's strategy. The shared HR services unit consists of about twenty experts in payroll processing, employment matters, HR customer service, and HR information systems. You are a member of the university’s HR management team and report to the Head of Operative HR.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead the Shared HR Services unit with an inspiring, coaching, and goal-oriented approach

  • Develop and expand Aalto University's HR service model in collaboration with other HR teams

  • Ensure the quality and efficiency of processes in your area of responsibility through automation, measurement, and continuous improvement

  • Ensure seamless operational HR services for our customers in collaboration with schools and other HR teams within the university

  • Ensure the compatibility of operating models and guidelines within the framework of legislation and the collective agreement.
     

We expect:

  • Several years of experience in similar managerial roles, for example in a shared service center, and at least five years of experience in responsible HR positions.

  • Experience in successful team management, and excellent leadership and managerial skills.

  • Experience and proven track record of leading and developing a centralized HR service operation or part of it.

  • Evidence of developing and streamlining operational HR processes.

  • Understanding of customer needs and customer experience: ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality and relevant services with your team.

  • Familiarity with modern HR and payroll systems.

  • Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to work.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to inspire, develop, and motivate experts.

  • Fluent working proficiency both in Finnish and English.

  • Relevant university degree.
