Introduction

 

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our Logistics Control Tower EMEA team in Tampere, Finland.

 

You will be responsible for logistics coordination tasks in nominated areas, which involve booking and monitoring shipments, communicating with our logistics service providers, handling freight invoices and managing freight claims, as well as handling logistics-related inquiries. Your role plays a crucial part of Metso Global Logistics Operations and you will be able to impact on sustainable Supply Chain in Metso. In this position, you will report to the Manager of Logistics Control Tower EMEA.

 

This position is located in Tampere, Finland, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

You will join a team of experts who are passionate about logistics. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as warehouses, logistics teams, finance, and logistics service providers. Our team culture is all about getting it done together and keeping the customer always in center. The members of our team are located mainly in Tampere, Finland, and Vilnius, Lithuania.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Arrange and coordinate import or export freight bookings with global logistics service providers.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal customers and logistics service providers regarding transportation issues, in consultation with regional and/or global logistics or trade compliance.
  • Review shipments to ensure optimization of freight spend, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer service, order management, purchasing or accounting.
  • Review freight invoices according to the given instructions so that they can be approved for payment.
  • Log and submit freight claims to global insurance providers according to process.
  • Monitor, review, and update Sales Force cases regarding logistics according to regional scope; Provide timely responses to internal customers so that end customers receive accurate information and maintain high levels of satisfaction with Metso service.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement as it pertains to the job function, including, but not limited to, tools; triggers/inputs to the process; and internal processes.

 

Who you are

 

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field, or a combination of education.
  • You have more than 3 years' experience in logistics, experienced in different functional areas such as forwarding, warehouse management, transportation management, import & export, and supply chain management, etc. 
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, paired with good skills in Finnish. 
  • You are proficient in MS Office tools, Excel analysis ability is seen as an asset. Familiarity with SAP & TM system is an asset. 
  • You navigate different stakeholders with ease, collaborating across diverse cultures and environments.
  • You can identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise, and diplomacy. Ability of root cause analysis.
  • You manage multiple issues in a very tight schedule and have the attitude of getting the job done with a positive can-do mindset
  • You work well as part of a multicultural team, while also working independently on day-to-day tasks.
