The KONE Global Trade Compliance team manages Export Control and customs matters throughout KONE. We are responsible for the global trade compliance framework, policy and requirements, and have a diverse team located currently in Finland, China, the USA and Mexico. We support business by advising, supporting and training on a broad range of trade compliance topics, such as customs tariffs, country of origin, Export Controls and import/export requirements. We work in close cooperation with KONE's global functions and local country units to develop the trade compliance environment and processes throughout KONE's operations.
We are looking for anExport Control Manager to join our team, reporting to the Head of Global Trade Compliance.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead in developing KONE's Export Control compliance program, related elements and processes
  • Monitor relevant regulatory developments & changes, especially from the EU and United States, and apply them to the KONE environment
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to export activities
  • Manage license application processes and license management with relevant authorities
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders related to e.g. sanctions compliance, research & development, procurement and logistics, and with external parties, such as 3rd party advisors and relevant authorities
  • Advise and train business units and global functions on Export Controls

The preferred location of the role is in Espoo, Finland or in Pero, Italy. Other KONE locations in Europe are negotiable.
We are looking for candidates with:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Suitable educational background, e.g. in international trade, economics, law or other relevant education
  • Experience of independently managing cross-functional activities in a changing environment
  • Experience of working in an international and multicultural environment with a record of managing both internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. EU Dual-Use and US Export Administration Regulations (EAR))
  • Knowledge of dual-use / EAR determination, de-minimis and Export Control license management
  • The ability to collect, manage and analyze data in a structured and efficient manner, and to identify key issues and root causes
  • The ability to summarize and present complex facts to non-specialist audiences
  • Availability and willingness to travel worldwide when necessary
  • Strong technical skills including MS Office, SAP is an advantage
  • Fluent written and spoken English
