DATA PLATFORM ENGINEER
to join Finnair's Data Platform team.
As a Data platform Engineer, your focus is to develop and build our modernData platformempowering top notch data solutions and better data usage and availability across Finnair.
In this role you'll be a part of theData platform teamwith highly skilled data professionals working closely with other data, analytics and AI talents. We enable faster development, easier maintenanceand compliance on the platform with new features, best practices and guidelines. With Finnair's new data strategy, we are about to start a transformation project to streamline our data platform architectureand ensure even better capabilities for the business to evolve. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will focus on:
DevelopingData platform byimplementing new features, optimizing the platform and ensuring Data life cycle, privacy and security policies are in place.
Streamlining the development lifecycle by identifying pain points and productivity barriers and determining ways to resolve them.
Administering theData platform withproduction support, access management, common utility management, cost management,common data management, performanceand orchestration monitoring.
Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and vendors, regarding e.g.development, operations, quality assurance, security, privacy and cloud platform.
Being the ambassadors of best practices: Promote common DataOps principles and culture across D&A and within Digital Services organization.
Training and self-development: Continuous development of own skills and training & supporting peers.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
More than 3 years of working experience in a similar area.
Practicalexperiencewithdata engineering, data integration, data modelling, DevOps engineering and database development techniques.
Hands-on experience working with AWS services (S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, EC2, ECS, SQS, Dynamo DB, Firehose, API Gateway, Airflow MWAA).
Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Spark (Python or Scala), Unix/Linux basics, GitHub, databaseslike Snowflake or redshift, dbt, and Elastic Search.
Strong adaptability, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
Continuouslearningattitude and willingness to explorenewtechnologies and methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
