We are now looking for  

BUSINESS INSIGHT ANALYSTS (3 ROLES)  

Your primary responsibility as our Business Insight Analyst is to develop, analyze, and translate data on business and markets into relevant insights for decision-making. You will thereby help to ensure that Business Finland is delivering impactful services to the benefit of our customers and prosperity of Finland. We have evolved into a customer-centric and international agency with a wealth of data. In this role you will elevate Business Finland’s data and insight management capabilities to new levels and thus accelerate our transformation into a data and insight-driven organization. 

You will join a cross-organizational team of other Business Insight Analysts and experts to utilize and combine a range of different types of data into actionable insights for strategic and operational decision-making. You will be the critical link between service area needs, data sources, business, and market research, draw relevant conclusions from complex data, and communicate these in an impactful way to align operations with objectives. You will also contribute to making sure that business and market insights are used to improve our customer service and other processes.  

These are new roles at Business Finland. At the same time, we are also recruiting a Head of Analytics & Insights to develop and lead the cross-organizational network that you will be part of.

Two Business Insight Analysts will be located at our Strategic Insight unit (impacts, foresight, and strategy). One of these analysts will mainly serve needs related to understanding how the Finnish business sector is evolving at company, industry, and sectoral level, including how our customer and service portfolios are aligned with these developments (Customer & Networks Service Area). The other analyst will mainly serve needs related to international market insights and foresight in regions where we have offices to stimulate exports (Global Growth Service Area).

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Identification of business and market data needs, information retrieval and analytical opportunities, both proactively and ad-hoc, for strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Modify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets by using statistical and other techniques.
  • Use graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize data and insights. Create dashboards to communicate findings and conclusions to decision-makers, internal customers, and external stakeholders. 
  • Identify problems, challenges, or inefficiencies to maximize the process and steering efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal (analysts, project managers, cross-functional teams) and external stakeholders (e.g. other TF organizations, ministries, industry, and companies) and communicate analysis with conclusions and action proposals from Business Finland´s perspective.
  • Create clear and concise documentation to ensure that all stakeholders have a shared understanding of project and task objectives.

WHO AND WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Master's degree or equal 
  • Strong knowledge, ability and proven track record in compiling and utilizing various types of complex qualitative and quantitative data, analyzing this data competently and developing actionable conclusions for decision-making.

o   For one of the roles (Customers & Networks Service Area): mainly company, industry, sectoral data, including Business Finland’s CRM data.

o   For one of the roles (Global Network Service Area): mainly export, market and sectoral data, including foresight data and insights. For this role documented experience of using foresight tools and approaches is also important.

o   For one of the roles (Finland Promotion Services): to support our strategy and the activities in achieving our set goals in attracting foreign investments, visitors, and international talent to Finland. The role strongly supports the Finland Promotion Services Management team with insights and analysis as base for decision making through e.g. market insight, benchmark analysis, foresight data and insight.

  • Experience of utilizing various techniques for data visualizations, reporting and communication of results and conclusions in impactful ways 
  • A structured way of working. experience in project management and related tools, including strong problem-solving skills, attention to both detail and the bigger picture.
  • Language skills:

o   For two of the roles: Fluency in English (Finland Promotion Services & Global Growth)

o   For one of the roles: Fluency in Finnish and English, a basic proficiency in Swedish (Customers & Networks)

  • Excellent collaboration, communication, presentation, social media, and other communicative skills to effectively present findings to executives and stakeholders.
