Accounting and Operations Administratorwithin Saab Canada, Inc. is responsible for supporting both finance and program operations, including office administration.

Yourrole

In this role you will bring value to the organization by supporting the Saab Canada, Inc’s business development and Operations teams. You will be working in alignment with Saab’s policies and directives with the purpose of maintaining relationships with co-workers, customers and suppliers.

Reporting to our Controller, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Data entry of invoices and employee expense reports for payment including correct application of Goods & Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax on customer and supplier invoices
  • Verifying transactions and reconciling accounts
  • Prepare purchase orders for approval ensuring allocated to correct project/contract/program
  • Draft customer invoices based on contract milestones
  • Project hours reporting (monthly)
  • Validate freight forward invoice and send for approval ensuring allocated to correct project/contract/ program
  • Receive and validate Cost Of Goods Sold invoices from other Saab entities ensuring they are allocated to correct project/ contract/program and PO number
  • Maintain office supplies inventory and organize office documentation
  • Greet visitors including maintaining visitor log, answer and direct phone calls, and handle inquiries or requests
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, which may involve research, data analysis, and presentation preparation.
  • Other tasks within Saab Canada, Inc. as deemed relevant from time to time

Your profile

To successfully fill this role, we are looking for you with 2 or more years’ direct work experience in accounting or finance experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline is preferred. The right candidate shows strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry, invoice validation, reconciliation, and reporting. Our next colleague has proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

We believe that you have strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, high integrity, diplomacy, good communication, time management and patience. You also have developed social skills and a positive attitude with an ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-cultural and diverse backgrounds

Preferably you possess

  • Well-developed written and presenting skills in English.
  • Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Proactive self-starter; self-motivated individual with a positive and ambitious attitude. A team player but with strong initiative to work with little supervision
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support colleagues in achieving departmental goals.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
