Product Engineer, Process, Boilers

Product Engineer - Are you passionate about energy solutions and ready to take your skills to a new level with boiler technology?

We are looking for a Product Engineer (Process) for our fluidized bed boilers in the Energy Business Unit. Our Technologies unit is located in Tampere, Finland, and we are responsible for the technology of power boilers and gasifiers throughout Valmet.

You will be working with fellow Product Engineers, chief engineers, and product managers who are committed to developing, selling, and delivering products that meet our high standards to industrial and power generation customers globally. Our target is to secure product competitiveness and suitability for demanding market expectations also in the future.

As the Product Engineer, you act as a technical expert for fluidized bed boilers and perform process engineering as a member of the technology unit. You will take part in product management as well as sales, delivery, and R&D projects. In product management, you will, for example, define concepts, design rules, and keep them up to date in cooperation with your teammates. The utilization and development of the product configurator will play a key role in this position. When supporting sales and delivery projects, you will cooperate with other disciplines, sub-suppliers, and customers.

Expectations

You should have a suitable technical degree in thermal, energy, environmental, chemical, or process engineering, as well as knowledge of boiler technology. You have fluent English skills, both spoken and written (other languages, especially Finnish, are a benefit). As we have projects around the world, this position includes occasional traveling.

We appreciate a team player with a positive can-do attitude. You enjoy working closely with our internal and external stakeholders, understand their needs, and can provide technical recommendations in a clear and concise way. You understand the big picture and its causalities, but on the other hand, you are also capable of very detailed engineering work. You plan and prioritize your work independently, but also know when to reach out for information and support. You can tolerate pressure and deliver results in a changing project environment with tight schedules.
